Information About Our Practice

Your First Visit to Tri-County Surgical Associates

When you come for your first appointment, don’t forget to bring the following important information:

1. Any medical records from other physicians who have treated you for your current condition.
 
2. Any X-rays and/or test results related to your current condition
 
3. A list of all medications you are currently taking

4. All medical insurance cards

5. Your driver’s license or a picture ID

6. An insurance authorization or a written referral from your primary care doctor, if required by your insurance company
 
7. Completed new patient forms, which you may download from the website. If it is not possible to complete these prior to your appointment, please arrive about 15 minutes early fill out this information

We participate with most insurance plans, however, you should contact your insurance provider to determine if our services are covered. Patients are required to pay insurance deductibles or copayments at the time of an office visit when services are rendered. We realize payment issues can be confusing; therefore, our insurance specialist will be glad to file your claim and answer any questions you may have.

Where we practice

Realizing that hospital preference is important to both you and your insurance company, our physicians maintain full privileges at several hospitals and outpatient facilities in the area including Trident Hospital, Summerville Medical Center, East Cooper Hospital, St. Francis Hospital Trident Surgery Center and HealthSouth Surgery Center.

Emergencies

One of our physicians is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In the event of an emergency before, during, or after hours, please call 843-797-5151, providing your name, the nature of your problem, and a telephone number where you can be reached, and a physician will contact you as soon as possible.

Prescriptions

Because each patient’s care is different, physicians must check patient files before ordering prescriptions or refills. For this reason, requests for prescriptions or refills must be made between 9:00am and 4:00pm Monday through Thursday and between 9:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M. on Fridays. When you call our office, please have ready all prescription information and the phone number of your pharmacy.
